Doing Your Research

No procedure is without risk. Truth be told, the only way to avoid risk completely is by abstaining altogether. That said, risk can be managed by a few things. Firstly, do your research.

  1. Choose a credentialed, experienced provider. They should use quality products sought directly from the manufacturer, and they should be able to tell you why they choose this particular product. Remember: there is no such thing as a free lunch. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Don’t take that chance on your face.

  2. Research the concerns you have prior to your appointment so you can ensure you are asking the right questions. The consultation is a time to assess your concerns, and your mutual fit - does your aesthetic match? What does “natural” mean to you? Align your expectations.

  3. Be specific about your desired outcome, timeline, and budget. Allow your injector to set reasonable expectations for what you can expect with any given limitations. This works both ways - you may want to work on several areas but be limited by budget. A skilled injector will help you set up a treatment plan to achieve your desired result within a reasonable timeframe.
